I used "scanner.exe --d_info" and found out that I had an erroneous file that caused the scan to terminate abruptly (apparently a badly encoded MP3 file that showed up as 18 minute-long and 32Kbit/s when it was supposed to be 4 min and 192K... Dunno what caused that, but not surprisingly, scanner.exe couldn't extract tags from it and promptly died.)
