the reason DTS or AC3 wrapped up in a WAV or FLAC works is that the SB doesn't need to do any surround processing, it just thinks it is regular audio and passes it as is to the AV reciever. I'm guessing that surround MP3 would need to be decoded and then sent to the digital outs. So it is completely different process than what will currently work.
