gorman, I'm sorry but I don't think it is fair of you to label people "narrow minded" because they have an opinion. This is after all what this forum is about. Opinions. Subjective or objective. I've read most of the posts on this thread and I think more than most it is full of positive words for Sean and company. There is also an overwhelming desire for the continuation of the open source nature of the software. Additionally, as you stated, there is a reoccurring sentiment expressed that the value of the SD brand be maintained. That's why companies pay millions to brand correctly. Is it right....not really....no one should judge a book by it's cover....but people do. So all we are saying is, because of that fact, SD should maintain it's own brand identity that has been built up so successfully over the years. And finally, as an audiophile, I do listen first but I also take into account the company behind the product. Spending $2000 is not an impulse purchase and I want to know that the item will be serviced and supported for many years to come.
