You're right, of course. Too much copy/paste :-).
Also I've put the cart before the horse here with my question. What I should have asked first is, how do you activate the custom.map file, in other words, how do you make the SB remote use the custom mapping instead of the default mapping?
Go to to Player Settings (web interface)/Remote. There's a dropdown list with key maps available.
