I'm fairly sure there's no wy of changing the buffering behaviour, but you should not be hearing glitches between tracks.
First check that crossfade is turned off. Also confirm that you are not synchronising players. If neither of these is the case, then there is some sort of problem. It might be this one http://bugs.slimdevices.com/show_bug.cgi?id=4715 which reports issues with gapless playback of FLAC cuefiles. One test would be to rip a test album to separate tracks and try playing that gapless (either WAV or FLAC). If this works ok then you probably have the same issue as reported in that bug, and you should add your details as that will help someone fix it and also notify you when something is done. In any case, are your WAV files being transcoded to FLAC (that would be the default, AFAIK)?
