This would be a very useful feature. As libraries grow and the job of serving music gets pushed to older machines (I'm currently using a 6-year-old iBook 500 with 192Mb RAM), in order to reserve processing power for live tasks (photo editing, DTP, downloading, etc.) rescanning an entire library to replace tracks with erroneous tags becomes onerous (23 hours currently).
How difficult is this feature to implement? Is it a mysql issue?
