Running Netstat -a -b reveals that my McAfee Security Center's Data Back Up is the program listening on port 9000. My computer came with a demonstration license of McAfee - which I recently (within the last two weeks) upgraded to a paid subscription, and the software updated itself.
Honestly, I don't believe I had restarted this computer since then. So how can I change Slimserver to run on a different port?
