Mine is behind smoked tempered glass. Works great. I have to keep Brightness up, but the Remote works fine. I started with a Salamander Synergy, and replaced the grill which was perforated metal with the glass. The perfs in the metal had some impact on the remote, but mostly the dot screen made the SqueezeBox hard to read.
