If you look at off-the-shelf external drives you'll discover that they
come with 1 year warranties.  It isn't too hard to find 5 year
warranties for "internal" drives.  What you want to do is buy an
"internal" drive and an external drive box and put it together
yourself.

Make sure the box you get can handle the drive capacity that you intend
to install.  

Seagate makes some quiet, 5 year warranty HDDs.
