I hope no-one has raised this issue already, but /you/ try doing
searches for two-word phrases made of common words in the forums....
:-)

Has anyone done any experimentation on streaming from a Slimserver to a
player in Second Life, for example to use in a club or on private land?
The idea would be to drive playlists from the web interface - no need
for music selections to be made at the player end: it would be just
like tuning to an internet radio station. Thus you could do DJ sessions
etc in-world.

Presumably one sets the remote player to
http://serverip:9000/stream.mp3

What ports in the source system firewall need to be open to handle
this, and in what directions? Any obvious pitfalls? I thought I had
this set correctly but the server isn't seeing the remote player so it
evidently isn't as simple as one would have thought.

Normally you would stream audio into SL via an internet radio service
such as Shoutcast.

Ideas and observations welcome.

Thanks
