What you can do is save the Slimserver URL once you chose the right player and use it as a shortcut for each of your not so geeky user. Of course this means that you will have to setup that URL once for each workstation. I do that for some MS office type users and setup softsqueeze headless on their startup. They don't know anything about SLimserver URL or chooseing the right player, they just go to favorites (or some use it as an embedded web page on WIndows desktop) and choose the link I've added...
