Ok, I have the same problem as others(I think)where using the thumbpad to browse artists, etc causes the current selection to be blocked off by the upper and lower menu bars. I just picked up my Nokia 770 from Buy.com, and all my info matches what others have posted. I guess I'm still kinda confused if there is a fix, or if it's forthcoming still.
