I tried everything listed here to get SlimServer to allow me to access the web based interface without crashing on Vista (via the remote worked fine). My problem was a result of some issue b/w my router (configured as a switch b/c I have satellite internet), Vista, and/or SlimServer. I finally ended up settling on JRMC and MC2Slim as a workaround.
