I din't kick off this post with the intention of focussing on value, only to note the apparent price rises in the UK.
As you say taxes have not risen in the last year but the exchange rate has moved in sterling's favour with respect to US purchases..... ....having said that, doing a search today, the only UK prices I can find are back to £1300 so maybe it was a few vendors hoping to make a quick profit....£1300 at least makes it comparable when VAT & duty are considered (to a $2000 US). As someone else stated in an earlier thread.....a £999 price tag would make it much more attractive in UK. A UK price difference of £1100 on the SB3 would pay for a pretty good hi-end DAC....
