Short answer: for all practical purposes the SB2/3 are the same. They are both much better than the SB1. You can, in theory, buy a used SB2 on Ebay, but be careful of 2 things: 1) SB2's have held their value amazingly well, there is not a huge cost savings in buying used and you don't get the 2yr (!) warranty. 2) A lot of people sell SB1g's as SB2's.... be very cautious and make sure you're really getting an SB2 and not an SB1, there is a large difference between the two (more memory, more formats, Squeezenetwork support, etc).
