All of my Vista issues have been solved with the latest SqueezeCenter (beta) and my realization that my choppy m4a playback was due to nVidia's chipset SATA RAID/Quicktime problem. I moved all of my m4a's to a non-RAID SATA drive and *poof* everything works automagically now.
