Boys and their toys and > all that ;-) The 256MB RAM requirement is the same as that listed for the SB3 and slimserver 6.5.x. I've never used a QNAP, but I've been running SC7 and the beta Jive hardware (now the Controller) for a few months now on a LinkStation with only 128MB. Performance is about the same as it was with 6.5.x: streams music fine, good response with the remote, and slow-but-usable with the web ui. The Controller is faster than the web ui, but can be a bit slow to load the album art.
