Define "doesn't work". What happens when you look at the System Preferences and the SlimServer preference pane.
I seem to remember that some people had issues with getting SS to start if it was set to start on boot. We certainly need to know how SS is set up, what happens if you start or stop it manually, etc. What kind of update did you do, from 10.5.0 to 10.5.1 or something else? What version of SS? Did it work before the update?
