I haven't had a controller in my own hands so far (only tried the desktop software version from svn), but the essence of it is that it is very responsive in comparison to a browser driven interface and that it is really portable per se (are the buttons backlit?). A Nokia770 or iPhone are portable too, but not as responsive and IMHO can't beat the Controller with their touch screens because task dedicated hardware buttons (not too much of them, of course) are better usability wise than those said touch screens.
