Same experience here. Seems to be a slight design flaw. I also have a 
Harmony 555 and in my view its quality is far better (rubber grip and 
solid). I normally prefer a rubber grip on the remote, not a glossy 
finish (as on the Duet) as the former is more resistant to wear and
tear. 
Would probably make the remote more expensive, but I think I would 
accept that.
