This doesn't make any sense. Can you provide some more context for that quote from the DTV manual? SB3 does not use POE, but it is fine to connect it to a POE switch. However, I suspect those comments have nothing at all to do with POE, and may have been referring to some other connector. If it is in fact 5v then it is non-standard and must be intended to support some special DTV hardware.
