I've had an 'empeg' (http://riocar.org) for almost 8 years now. I have yet to find something to replace it. The biggest problem with many new cars is the lack of a proper DIN slot to move it to. A squeezebox-car could be close to an acceptable UI, but no where near as good as the empeg for car use.
