Interesting, but I'm assuming that opening ports only applies if you have a software firewall running on the server hosting SqueezeCenter? Opening or forwarding ports should not be necessary when using a router-based firewall when all the devices are within the LAN - obviously opening and forwarding ports is necessary for WAN-devices that need to communicate with LAN devices, but that's surely not the case here with the Controller and SqueezeCenter (at least I hope it's not!
