Many mid to high-end (and this is what we're talking about here, not
low-end or budget) amps go into AV racks, typically situated at the
bottom, possibly even hidden out of sight. Even on a £1400 TX-NR905 the
fluourescent display is of a much lower resolution than that on an
SB3/Classic, it's only slightly better in fact than the original
Slimp3! :)

The remote control that came with the Onkyo amp was one of the poorest
quality remotes I have ever used, suggesting Onkyo don't want to invest
too much in remotes if at all possible, as they knowe that most owners
will replace the remote with a higher-end alternative anyway (I
replaced mine with a Harmony One and very good it is too).

Since the Controller isn't cheap, it might be better for amp
manufacturers to make the the Controller an optional extra, including
only the regular cheap-o remote as standard allowing the user to buy a
Controller (assuming they even need one) if they want to use the
built-in Receiver. After all, the Receiver h/w probably has the lowest
cost of the entire Duet solution.

I'd still like to see a combined Controller+Harmony One though! :)
