Whatever you choose, make sure that:
1) it's not a complete pain to use
2) getting out is always easy

At some point I worked at a site that rented space in a computer room. To
access the computer room, you had to enter a little cabin, then the door
behind you would close, and you had to put your finger on a finger print
reader. Once in the cabin, the only way out was to get a good reading and
access the computer room, or, get three bad readings and get back out while
some loud bell would ring, and big red lights would flash.

Some of us had dry skin, or whatever, but had huge problems with this, we'd
have to go through this little dance 5 or 6 times before we'd get a good
reading. The excuse we were given was that there was something wrong with
our fingers (and no, I did not sue my mother) ! In the end, I made every
effort not to go there, so if I prioritized my tasks to make sure that any
task involving going through this humiliation would be right at the bottom
of the list.

Worst: The same finger print reading procedure was to be used to get out (to
know who is in, and who is out + it'd check your mass). Once, after a long
night of work inside the room, where I wanted to try one last thing to fix
some problem before I went to the washroom, I eventually decided I could no
longer wait, needed to go, and could fix it after, well, I could not get
out, I threaten to do my business in a corner, or start a fire to get the
emergency doors to open, and finally they phone somebody somewhere to lower
the security level so that the reading did not have to be as perfect and the
damn machine would let me out. That is the last time I went there, and made
it clear I was not going to renew my contract if I needed to go back in there.

I'm sure it was a very safe system.
