Was Reddit intended to be a social-networking site?  I thought it
was meant to be a quicker, lighter-weight Slashdot without the
Slashdot ``editors''.  It seems to be a good source of random
possibly interesting information, along with getting a sense of
what people (who read Reddit) think is interesting.
