Not with Verizon, but on dynamic ip... I now pay for a DNS provider and am 
happy I do (can have as many domain as I want, SRV and TXT records available, 
simpler dynamic DNS procedure, etc...).

Note that "overloading" the original ip does not work for mail servers as most 
mail servers now check that the forward and reverse DNS match as a spam 
limiting measure.
