Sure. Others have pointed out what I call the "learn under fire" method. Make sure it's not a production machine and let them do an upgrade, install a new package, whatever. When it blows up, won't go on the 'net, let someone login, whatever, and they come crying to you, you say, "What resources do you have, outside of asking me?" Guide them to said resources then say, "Go figure it out." After a while, the thrill of figuring it out on their own gets a bit addictive. (of course, these days these kids have that newfangled "web" thing to go look things up!
