Richard M. Stallman founded the Free Software Foundation 25 years ago
today, on October 4, 1985.

A big thank-you to Mr. Stallman and all whom contributed to the FSF's
mission; we've handsomely benefited from it in countless ways over the
years. Here's hoping to the next 25 years being just as grand!

That mission led to the realization you could use the Doppler effect to
triangulate your own position on the ground using space-based assets --
the cornerstone of today's GPS capability.
