Managing OpenVZ which is Linux-specific OS level virtualisation, although
similar technologies are available for Solaris, FreeBSD and even
MS-Windows.

All of the war stories I could think of could be equally applicable in
Solaris.

I switch between Linux & Solaris often. To me they feel like I'm speaking
different dialects of the same language. If I forget something in one
dialect $SEARCHENGINE will deliver the answer in seconds.

Notable differences include but are not limited to:

* Package management systems
* Filesystem layout
* Low level tools
