I agree that itunes doesn't suit for playing mp3s. You can open any or all mp3s in another program by going to the file menu when you're pointing to the file you want to play. use vo-m arrow to file, then down to always open with menu. Then select the program you want to play the file (in my case it's quicktime) then that file will always open using that program. There's also an option to change all files of that format to be opened in that app. Click that button, then you only need fiddle with changing it when you get a new mp3 file. For some reason, it doesn't change the default mp3 player, but I can live with that I guess.

Does anyone know if it's possible to get XJournal to detect what's playing in RealPlayer instead of iTunes? iTunes just doesn't suit me for playing MP3s--in fact, it makes the MP3s sound terrible. RealPlayer does a better job and I would like to have it auto- detect from there. Any ideas?
