print without the item chooser menu but there seem to be others as

Hi all,
You can create PDF documents in OS X using a couple of options.
First, you create your document in TextEdit or some other application
that is VO friendly. Once it is to a point that is acceptable to
you, do the following:
1. Press cmd+p to get the Print dialog.
2. Navigate to the Preview button. This will open the document in
the Preview application from which point you can save it as a PDF.
or try this:
1. Press cmd+p to open the Print dialog.
2. Press cmd+i to open the Item Chooser menu.
3. Arrow down until you locate the first "unknown", then press return.
4. Press cmd+shift+space to activate the unknown. This will bring
up a pop-up menu that gives you choices of saving the document as
PDF, PDFX and numerous other PDF related options.
That "unknown" does not seem to appear unless you use the Item
Chooser menu. No biggy though as there's usually a way to get around
things when you want to.
Later...
