I've discovered that using the mouse indeed does strange things to vo.

I notice the cursor jumping in AOL when I am looking at my mail, but
not really withanything else. It did weird things when my Sister
would try to help me by using the mouse also. I thought that maybe it
had somethingto do with Safari and AOL, but I guess not. I previously
used OutSpoken and even withthe problems that I have had with
Voiceover, I like it a lot better. I am able to do things with
Voiceover that I could never do with OutSpoken.

Subject: Re: VO cursor jumping in 10.4.4?
This bug happened a long time ago and was reported and fixed but
it seems from your email that it poped back up. By the way it is a VO
bug related to safari. If you turn off VO it doesnt happen but with
VO on if one scrolls down a page in safari using the mouse with a
sighted person, the safari page will suddenly jump back to the top
but it will not happen if VO is turned off so it is not VO commands
related but some interaction between the VO program and the Safari
program that happend even if one is only using the mouse in a sighted
way. Vickie Weir
