I can tell you from my experience that no VO doesn't do well with Virtual PC in any event. Not from the inability to read the screen of the Virtual PC software itself, but it doesn't read the os your running and also its quite slow. Now with all that said, I was successful in installing xp and Window-Eyes, but it was to painful so I haven't tried it again. I'm not sure if there's any tweaks that would help and my only reason for installing this was to use some apps I am required to use at the office while I'm teleworking. Well so I'm still dragging the laptop back and forth for now.

I've been reading through soem of the archives but haven't found much info about pc emulators on the mac. I stil have one piece of software that I am kind of attached to that I use with my pc. I was wondering if the "voice over" feature would read software running under an emulator? Does anybody
ahve any info on this? If you need more specifics, let me know.

Hello Jim:

Welcome to the list. This is the place to ask questions and they are welcome. Yes, ask plenty of questions and hopefully you will be able to gather the information which will lead you to purchase a mac (grin). I was faced with the same dilemma and went for the mac. It has been the best thing I have done from
the standpoint of computers.

Enjoy and once again, ask away.----- Start Original Message -----

Subject: New to the List!

Hello All!

I just signed up to the list and am reading past postings but am sure that I'll have questions as I go along. I dcurrently am using windows and jfw--a
very old version and they want almost 600 bucks for an upgrade and
maintenance agreement. I am seriously thinking it'd be money better spent to
sink it into the apple since they have the new voice over software.

I'd welcome any comments from anybody and if this has already been posted to
the list previously, feel free to email me privately.

Jim
