Tim, first I have not plugged the keyboard into the hub. I think this
would be a rather bad idea so we agree there. I have tried each
device separately and the behavior does not occur. Only when
everythng is plugged into the hub. The hub itself with nothing
plugged in does not create the problem either. I have not tried
unchecking the restart after power failure, but will give that a try.
That would be unfortunate since I find this feature very appealing,
but its one to try.
Thanks for the suggestion, I hadn't thought of that one in all my
testing.

Hi Scott,
Three things:
1. Do you have your Energy Saver settings set to restart your
machine upon a power failure? It's possible things are being
interpreted incorrectly if so.
2. Do you have your unit set to wake upon certain conditions?
Same idea with possible interpretation.
3. when playing with switching around USB locations, which I don't
believe has anything to do with it, it is important to note that
you do not put your keyboard into the hub. It has been recognized
as an issue that putting your keyboard through a hub or other
chained device can cause undesirable results including
reinstallation of your system. Not a common thing and also not
consistently an issue but certainly not recommended.
It is also possible that one of those devices in the USB hub is
sending signals to your computer which does not allow it to go to
sleep. Have you been able to plug in each device separately and
see if any one of them is related to the issue.
