There's some other product that is apparently "flip" too so I guess I'd better specify.

Well, now it's all coming back to me--thanks to a visit to the archives!!! I did download these components but I disabled the app because some files I tried said something about not being able to play--afraid I don't remember all the details. In fact, I eventually uninstalled it. I suppose I should try it again as I imagine eventually wmp won't work for me any more. The one nice thing I can say about it is "no more stuffit expander"--that program seems to have to be reinstalled every time I need it and I've only needed it for wmp. But is this really supposed to completely replace wmp? I actually use vlc for a lot of windows media content but there are limitations. Guess I'll have to do a lot of experimenting before I actually uninstall wmp.
