This is a problem frequently encountered with new vo/mail users. When setting up a new account, mail defaults to a dot mac account. This pop-up box isn't readily vissible when doing your configuration, and it needs to be changed *first* so it's a bit of a pain that it acts the way it does. However, to solve this problem, when you first go into new account, backtab (shift tab) once, and you'll get to the type of account pop-up box. Change this from dot mac to pop3, and your problem will go away. I honestly think this is one issue Apple should fix when using vo and mail to setup a new account, that box should be highlighted by default, instead of the one after it. It makes for some rather confusing sessions with account setup.

Hello:

Trying to setup as the subject suggests however when trying to slect the pop incoming server which is suppose to be mail.gmail.com for whatever reason the .mac server is apart of the pop server along with the gmail account.

On the gmail account from the web, I have enabled pop. Any thoughts or suggestions will be appreciated.

I have followed the web instructions using Apple mail.
