setting up msn messenger threw jabber?

hello how do you set up msn messenger to use jabber to use with ichat?
I remimber a while back some one was using msn messenger threw jabber and was 
using jabber threw ichat.
also can you use other protocalls with jabber? this way to?
I thaught I remimber you being able to do this but I need to make sure please
