Probably a good idea, yes. Sox Wrap has the libraries needed to make MP3s and OGG Vorbis. If you try and use it without those lkibraries installed you get an error--probably what you get when you use Fink.

Maybe I'm missing supporting packages, but my sox from darwinports recognizes aiff but not mp3 or ogg; my sox from fink gives some kind of error I haven't tracked down yet. I'm pretty sure my sox on linux does all these conversions but haven't checked on one of my linux machines yet. So guess I'll go get stuffit AGAIN!!!
