drag and drop

Someone at Apple told me there is a way to drag and drop files from  
one folder to another, using the keyboard.  But I have not yet  
figured that out.  I am setting up a dummy user account on my  
machine.  Then I will create some files I don't care about.  I will  
begin to experiment with these files.  Somehow I think the number pad  
keys are supposed to be used for the mouse, and dragging and dropping  
functions.
