Well, it's only gotten so hot the fan had to turn on once, and once
that batch conversion was done, I turned it off for the night. I
figured that would let it cool down.

When the fpu (floating point unit) gets used a lot, it makes the
processor run hot. (at least it does in the intel chips, and I see
no reason why it would be any difference with the ppc ones) It's
likely just a byproduct of your crunching sessions. I'd not worry
about it too much, as long as your fan is running, the computer is
designed to turn off if it gets too hot.
