Quite right and if many of our Windows friends took your advise as
stated below then they too! would be far better off.

I don't use any anti-virus software on the Mac, nor do I advise
anyone to do so. Just use prudent computing practices. If you don't
know what something is that was sent to you by someone you don't
know, they don't open it up. Or I should say, don't run it, and then
enter your password when the system asks for it. Especially a jpeg.
Also some good practices, don't use your primary logon account as the
admin account. Create an admin account with a good password and
another account for your normal computing needs.
Use a firewall and NAT, every router I've seen includes those two
abilities.
Also keep up to date with any security fixes released by apple, or
other vendors of software you use.
