Hello everyone. I've been lurking on this list for about a year now, and have really enjoyed all the discussions that have went on. I've been both a windows and linux user for a while now, and I'm happy to say that soon I'll be taking the plunge in to the world of the Mac. I ordered my Mac Book from the Apple store on Thursday night, so with luck, I'll have it sometime this week, or early next week. My girlfriend Holly has also just purchased a Mac Book. This is the same Holly who wrote in to the list the other day. Holly and I have been doing a podcast called the Darcy And Holly Show since May of Last year. We've now decided to start a new podcast, which we're calling The Screenless Switchers Podcast. Neither of us have ever owned a Mac, so we thought it might be interesting to cronicle our experiences learning a new screen reader and operating system. At least, that's going to be the initial focus of the podcast. Eventually, we hope to expand the show to include things like, apple and voice over news, interviews with other blind mac users and developers, product reviews, etc. This is something we've been planning ever since we saw Jane's Ibook last February, and got a glimpse of what the Mac and Voiceover were like. I'm not sure if listening to Holly and I learn about Voice Over will be of interest to a lot of you long time Mac Users, but I hope some of you will check it out. We want the podcast to have a community feel to it, so we're interested in any feedback we can get. The feed address for the show is http://feeds.feedburner.com/ screenlessswitchers. Right now, all that's there is a brief pilot episode, where we discuss our plans for the podcast. I will say that this pilot isn't as polished as we hope that future shows will be, but I hope lots of you will check it out anyway. You can also get it from the shows web site which is http:// www.screenlessswitchers.com. There's not much on that site right now, but we're planning to build it in to a quite extensive voice over related resource.
