You can have the mac set it's own time just by checking the box in time/date preferences. I don't remember offhand what it's called, but you'll recognize it when you see it. It's just a simple checkbox, and when it's checked, your time is greyed out, so you can't set it. When you do this, it gets the time from a time server on the internet. I haven't checked to see which one, but it works. I use this periodically just to keep my clock in sync. I do not leave it on this setting though, I always uncheck it after it's updated the time. No reason really, I just like not having it setting the time from other servers except when I tell it to do so.
