Hi all.
this is one of the few things about the mac mini that drives me crazy; it
has happened a couple of times before. I was switching between usb audio
and the internal speaker/headphone jack last night and somewhere during my
arrowing in System Preferences/sound/output I lost sound. rebooting,
unplugging, etc. have not brought it back. I do get a sound sometimes if I
hit a key combination on the keyboard that doesn't work. I know the
computer is otherwise functional because the scanner works and I can even
do ctrl-option-shift after arrowing with vo keys when i know scanning is
done and either get another page to scan or finish. i can also ssh in from
other computers. Is there a file I can change or a way to do something
about this? I don't really want to reinstall especially with my scanner
having just been installed and when i tried to boot the cd I didn't get
sound either and the install dvd didn't sound the way it usually does so I
don't know whether or not this is related or a separate issue. Any help
would be appreciated; I'll also be searching google and maybe calling
Applecare but applecare has a tendency to keep telling you to look at the
screen.
