There are a couple of issues here the standard macintosh application
installer a program called package Manager does indeed provide a
visual indicator of progress. And it might well be reachable by
VoiceOver which should indicate what percentage the indicator is at.
What should happen is that if the suer has VoiceOver enable then it
should announce the percentage without user interaction.
The other issue is that there are several other installer programs
that developers might use other than Package Manager as well.
