Ok, well if this has been pointed out already then sorry but indeed
you can install Windows Xp and other versions prior to that without
sighted assistance though in the case of just installing from the CD-
ROM (that is booting from the CD and going from there) you need to
know the exact keystrokes to use to get the basics installed before
you can run Narrator.
The other method involves creating an "unattended" install which I've
done but several factors come into play here, firstly the unattended
installer does work but if Windows cannot find your sound card or
drivers for your sound device then? Well, you're up the creek without
a paddle. Now of course, you can modify the ""unattended install"
procedure so it looks for drivers for your sound card and other
devices in a specific location but why the bloody hell should a
computer user go to all this trouble?
On the other side of the coin as we all know, insert the Tiger or
Lepard DVD into the drive of your Mac and away you go <smile>, that's
perfectly logical and straight forward, even the latest versions of
LINUX do this much.

I suspect, though I can't prove, it may have something to do with
the ability to install Windows without sighted assistance, just as
we can with VoiceOver and the Mac. No details were given, but
that's what I suspect. The beef is a little off topic, I know; but
somebody asked if whether or not Microsoft was treated the same way
in a resolution. Richie Gardenhire, Anchorage, Alaska.
