Has this happened before? I can think of a couple of reasons you
might get this message. If the server load is really high then this
could happen or you could get incomplete or interrupted downloads.
i read about this happening one time when some of the mirrored
servers used by iTunes for podcast distribution were overloaded,
so suddenly subscribers to certain podcasts experienced delays.
I never experienced this personally, since this was back when
iTunes was not very accessible, and if you had subscribed to podcasts by
pasting the URL into "Subscribe to Podcast" under the Advanced
Menu of iTunes you were pointed to the source server and never
saw these problems.

I've found, starting yesterday, the iTunes store is a lot busier for
searches. Presumably this is because they are preparing for the
last Harry Potter audio book release. That could have some
side effects and general delays.

You should only get lists of available episodes, but sometimes
episodes have been taken off the distribution feed, so when you
try to download them nothing happens. If you can't download
episodes through iTunes and can get to them through the
RSS feed web page for the subscription, then there is a problem
at the iTunes server site for that podcasts.

I haven't seen a problem like that today myself.
Will, did you manage to diagnose why you couldn't get to the
source outline when you were in your podcast library earlier?

Cheers,

Esther
