Hi Cheryl,

Yes perhaps we should take this off list, as it might get off of the topic of the mac and Voice Over. I am seriously cosidering buying a Pac Mate.

Hope to speak with you off list

Best Wishes

James

Hi James,
Before I say much more I would like to say if we want to talk about this more we should probably do it off list since it does not directly pertain to the Mac. I understand the need for braille. Do you know there is both a 20 and 32 cell braille display for the VoiceSense? I say that incase you really are attracted to the size and portability of the machine? The two products together (VoiceSense and the 20 cell braille display) are cheaper than the BrailleSense was itself if that is of any concern.

Just a little FYI.

Warm regards,
Cheryl

Hi Cheryl,

I have considered it, but I really need Braille feedback for
editing
and reading etc. I didn't have a very good year academically at
University this past year. Although i put the work, i have found
taht
audio doesn't work for me. I prefer Braille as it is my medium,
but
it is very difficult to store in large amounts as I am sure you
know.
However, this upcoming academic year, i am going back to Braille.

Thank you for the suggestion though

Take care

James

Hi James,
Have you considered the VoiceNote? I do not know how it's
compatibility fares with the Mac, however.

So based on this, and based on the hintd at improvements by
Apple
with full Braille support for Leopard, and the versitility of
Pac
Mate, I will probably get a Pac Mate and th upgrade to the Omni.
What
do people think?

Best James

PS - I have found a blog by kaffkasdaytime, but the last entry

BrailleNotes worked with MissingSync but not quite as well as

all
with the Mac.

Hi Greg,

Did you find the same level of functionality with Braille Not as
you did the pac Mate? It's just that I'm considering getting a
Pac
Mate.
Thanks
James
