Actually I am coming from JAWS and when typing I can hear the characters as
I type a word and once I hit the space bar it pronounces the word. I
wondered if VO has the same feature.

I think what you are referring to is the Typing Echo which offers
characters, words or nothing. When it comes to reading, you can read a
whole document, paragraph by paragraph, sentence by sentence, line by
line, word by word or character by character. All the information is in
the VO documentation.
